Portable Theatre Project
While discussing the idea of a Shakespeare Festival for Cawdor Castle in Scotland, the idea of a portable elizabethan style theatre was broached by the Dowager Lady Cawdor.
Cawdor Castle is of course renowned as the home of Shakespeare's Macbeth and receives in the order of 70,000 visitors each summer because of that.
This portable theatre resulted in a conversation with the Dean of Architecture at Adelaide University. It has been designed by 3 final year and a post grad student from that course. They have taken the idea of an Elizabethan Theatre and run with it, giving an amazing 21st century take and causing a great deal of interest and excitement.
The theatre has the potential to become a significant international tourist attraction and can be used for plays and musical performances.
